The Matthew Golder Scholarship was set up in January 2019 to offer financial help to students to further their musical theatre training and help towards tuition fees, uniform and audition fees. Whilst this financial help is amazing, the scholarship has also been set up to remember our wonderful student, Matthew Golder who sadly passed away in October 2018.
Matthew had such a passion and zest for life, beyond being unbelievably cheeky, he was one of the most caring, hard working and kind boys we’ve had the privilege of teaching. He absolutely adored drama and performing, both with us and also at his Primary School, St Anne’s Heath. We remember Matthew most for his outstanding performance as Phil, in Hercules: A Greek God.
We will never move on from the loss of Matthew, but we will ensure we continue our work to teach and train more and more young performers. Forever a part of our Family.

50% of the funding available has been donated by Matthew’s Family; Helen, Rick and Thomas Golder. We would like to thank them for their generosity, and continued support of the academy.
